Position:
- Provide personal care and support to clients in their homes, meeting their needs and preferences.
- Assist with personal care activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting as needed.
- Assist clients with assistance with mobility, transfers, and exercises recommended by health professionals.
- Help with meal planning, preparation, and feeding based on dietary needs and preferences.
- Perform light household chores including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Assist with medication reminders and ensure patient adherence to prescribed medication regimen.
- Escort clients to meetings, outings, and other events as needed.
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and activities that encourage mental stimulation and well-being.
- Write and maintain accurate records of care provided, facts, and any changes to clients.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification or training in nursing, personal care, or home care is preferred.
- Proven experience (X years) as a Home Care Assistant or similar care work is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Knowledge of self-care techniques, mobility aids, and self-defense techniques.
- Ability to follow care plans, adapt to client needs, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Compassion, patience, and reliability in providing consistent care and support to clients.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle may be required for some positions.
